Sword of the Necromancer: Resurrection, a 3D reimagining of the 2021 roguelike, complete with a renewed battle system, was just shown off at the Future Games Show Summer Showcase.
As Tama, you failed in your responsibility to protect Koko, and now you'll do anything to bring your fallen friend back from the dead - including facing off against the minions of the mystical Necromancer. As you journey through this roguelike dungeon, you'll use your sword to turn your enemies into allies. Amassing an army able to fight at your side, you'll take on the Necromancer and try and return Princess Koko to life.
The original game was a top-down, 2D adventure, but Sword of the Necromancer: Resurrection places Tama and Koko in a fully 3D remake of the Necromancer's Dungeon. As well as the new perspective, a new battle system offers improved combos and a companion AI system to make your journey to the Necromancer a little smoother than before. Local co-op also returns, allowing you to play with a friend at your side, amassing an even bigger force with which to take on your greatest foe - if you can make it that far, that is.
Sword of the Necromancer: Resurrection is coming to Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam, where you can wishlist it now ahead of its planned Summer 2024 release window.
