A new trailer at the Future Games Show Spring Showcase has us swooning
Looking for some Metroidvania goodness to fill that Hollow Knight: Silksong-sized hole in your game library? The Future Games Show Spring Showcase has just thrown up a darling contender for your time.
Inayah – Life After Gods features all the beloved genre staples as you know and love them with an anime-inspired, hand-drawn aesthetic that's just as pleasing on the eyeballs as the fluid combat looks.

The trailer introduces us to Inayah's world with glimpses of a ruined world and a child forced to watch a parental figure perish. Here, the gods have died, and we're just trying to do our best to get by. As you continue along the story's path, you'll piece together what happens as you make choices to shape the direction you walk.
Inayah also promises an adventure with a myriad of biomes. From sunlit ruins to shadowy depths, you'll want to take the extra time to explore and uncover every secret waiting to be discovered.
The rest of the trailer gets into more of the good stuff as we see various glimpses of our heroine engaging in pulsating combat. Seamless weapon-switching allows you to craft a battle style unique to you on the fly, which is further enhanced by flexible character builds that allow you to adapt your abilities and weapons to suit your playstyle.
Developer ExoGenesis Studios also teases fierce and memorable bosses who demand skill and mastery, ensuring that these beasts aren't mere obstacles but a spectacle of the journey. Be it switching playstyle for fun or to topple a memorable foe, Inayah offers plenty of flexibility to combat and reason to try something new.
Sound good? Inayah will be released in late March 2025 for Steam and later this year for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. In the meantime, you can follow the game's progress on Discord, Facebook, and beyond.
