Beyond Galaxyland is a spacefaring RPG that takes inspiration from everything from Final Fantasy 7 to The Goonies
There's an entire galaxy(land) for you to explore
Beyond Galaxyland, a sci-fi adventure inspired by everything from classic JRPGs to the kooky world of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is out now on PC and consoles, offering a galaxy-spanning experience.
A 2.5D RPG boasting some beautifully detailed pixel art that brings the worlds of an entire galaxy to life, Beyond Galaxyland focuses on Doug, an unfortunate high-schooler who's whisked away from Earth to an entirely new solar system: Galaxyland, a whole system styled like an intergalactic zoo. Accompanied by his now pistol-wielding pet guinea pig Boom Boom and a sentient robot, Doug finds himself in the midst of a Universe-conquering plot by an all-powerful entity known only as 'The End'.
Doug's efforts will take him all over Galaxyland; from snow-covered wastes to tropical jungles, to neon-soaked sci-fi cities, the game brings entire planets to life, complete with all the detail and sci-fi stylings of the games and films that inspired it. Classic JRPGs like Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VII, cult 1980s films like Flight of the Navigator and The Goonies, and sci-fi juggernauts like Star Wars and Hitchhiker's Guide have all left their mark on Beyond Galaxyland.
As you travel across the galaxy, you'll capture enemies that will eventually fight at your side in future battles, letting you turn the tide in your favor with the help of friends inspired by dinosaurs, ostriches, and even an armadillo. And those battles will see you get to grips with Beyond Galaxyland's crafting system, letting you create armor and consumables to help you out in a pinch - especially against the game's threatening boss battles. No matter your RPG experience, you'll find plenty to like, whether it's engaging in a huge variety of side quests and their unique mechanics or simply uncovering everything the galaxy has to offer.
Beyond Galaxyland launched on September 24 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, where you'll be able to pick the game up at a 20% launch discount for a limited time.
