Locomoto is a literal on-rails cozy game because it puts you in charge of conducting your very own train and it's launching really soon

Cosy train and life sim Locomoto will be arriving on Steam on April 8, and its next stop will be Nintendo Switch later in 2025, as revealed at the Future Games Show.

Published by Amplifier Studios, this is developer Green Tile Digital's second game and sees you helming your very own train, transporting passengers throughout the land to help your hometown's environmental woes. You'll also be doing all this to an original lo-fi soundtrack for maximum cosy vibes.

Your simple steam engine starts in a shabby condition, requiring you to fix, upgrade, expand, and maintain it for the best possible traveling experience. Each station you stop at might see quirky animal villagers in need of transportation get on board. Pick a route, get your steam train rolling, and then speak to your passengers to see what you can do to make their journey as pleasant as possible – anything from the trolley?

Outside of running your locomotive, there are plenty of opportunities for you to explore the world, speak to locals at each stop, and gather resources needed to craft furniture. You can use what you craft to decorate your train's interior and exterior to your tastes. Helping locals on your train travels is also how you can get more crafting blueprints and even clothes to dress up your conductor.

Locomoto will be chugging onto Steam on April 8, 2025, and will eventually arrive on Switch later in 2025. While you're waiting for your chilled train to arrive, make sure you check out the Steam demo, get it on your wishlist, and follow the developers on Twitter for all the latest updates.
