Woot is offering some of the year's best prices on Nintendo Switch games right now

Nintendo Switch games are already getting into the holiday spirit this week, with a flash sale from Woot offering up some record-low prices on some of the biggest titles on the shelves. Between The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, these discounts aren't just limited to the same cheaper games we see in the bargain bin day to day. These are impressive savings that only tend to see the light of day during Black Friday.

Savings average out at around $20, though some reach as high as $25 right now. Considering I only ever really expect to see the former during major sales events, this is a must-see sale. You'll find the full selection listed under the video games category on the Amazon-owned deals site (they're easy to spot, Woot keeps its listings slim). However, considering these offers end on November 1, I'd recommend heading to some highlights straight away.

Tears of the Kingdom, for example, is available for just $44.99 right now (was $69.99) - the lowest price I've seen on a sequel that only typically drops to around $50 during major events. However, more recent releases like Princess Peach: Showtime! are getting involved as well. Her ladyship's adventure is also available for $44.99 (was $59.99) - a record-low that beats previous sales by around $4.

There's plenty more where that came from, though - you'll find my top picks from this week's Nintendo Switch deals just below.

Today's best Nintendo Switch game deals

Mario vs Donkey Kong | $49.99 $39.99 at WootSave $10 -

Mario vs Donkey Kong | $49.99 $39.99 at Woot
Save $10 - Mario vs Donkey Kong was already a cheaper game, but it's down to just $39.99 at Woot right now. That's a good rate for a more recent release, especially considering Amazon itself is still stuck at $43.99.

Buy it if:

✅ You played the original games
✅ You like puzzle gameplay
✅ You still want some platforming

Don't buy it if:

❌ You want harder precision platforming

Price check: Amazon: $43.99 | Walmart: $43.99

Mario Party Superstars | $59.99 $39.99 at WootSave $20 -

Mario Party Superstars | $59.99 $39.99 at Woot
Save $20 - Mario Party Superstars is another Switch game dropping down to $39.99 at Woot today - that's a price usually reserved for Black Friday. I've only ever seen this title drop to $41 in previous sales at Amazon, though.

Buy it if:

✅ You want more multiplayer options
✅ You want to play older maps as well
✅ You want to play online

Don't buy it if:

❌ You want all-new maps and minigames

Price check: Walmart: $49.89 | Amazon: $52.10

Luigi's Mansion 3 | $59.99 $39.99 at WootSave $20 -

Luigi's Mansion 3 | $59.99 $39.99 at Woot
Save $20 - Luigi's Mansion 3 is a little older, but it's still a fantastic way to get spooky. I've never seen the 3D puzzle platformer drop below $39.99 in the past - and that $20 discount usually only ever appears on Black Friday.

Buy it if:

✅ You want fresh puzzle mechanics
✅ You also like competitive mini-games
✅ You want multiplayer options

Don't buy it if:

❌ You'd rather relive Luigi's Mansion 2

Price check: Amazon: $50 | Walmart: $50

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate | $59.99 $42.99 at WootSave $17 -

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate | $59.99 $42.99 at Woot
Save $17 - Super Smash Bros. Ultimate released shortly after the Switch console itself, but this is still a full price game day to day. The success of the title has meant discounts are difficult to come by - but Woot has a solid $17 saving right now. That's the cheapest I've seen the brawler - usually this is still $49.99 even when on sale.

Buy it if:

✅ You enjoyed the original
✅ You have the amiibo
✅ You want to play online

Don't buy it if:

❌ You don't like fighting games

Price check: Amazon: $49.49 | Walmart: $49.49

Princess Peach: Showtime! | $59.99 $44.99 at WootSave $15 -

Princess Peach: Showtime! | $59.99 $44.99 at Woot
Save $15 - Princess Peach: Showtime! is a newer release, but that's not stopping Woot from kicking its price down this week. Previous Nintendo Switch deals have only ever nudged the numbers below the $50 threshold - now we have a full $44.99 sale price.

Buy it if:

✅ You're buying for kids
✅ You want new mechanics to play with
✅ You like collecting

Don't buy it if:

❌ You want traditional Mario-style platforming

Price check: Amazon: $55.95 | Walmart: $56.48

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom | $69.99 $44.99 at WootSave $25 -

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom | $69.99 $44.99 at Woot
Save $25 - This is a mega saving on one of the biggest games of the last few years. Tears of the Kingdom rarely drops below $50 - in fact, that's where I was expecting to see it over Black Friday this year. However, Woot has already dropped it to just $45 this week.

Buy it if:

✅ You liked Breath of the Wild
✅ You enjoy open world gameplay
✅ You're a Zelda fan

Don't buy it if:

❌ You prefer classic dungeon crawling

Price check: Walmart: $56.95 | Amazon: $61.80

Should you buy Nintendo Switch games before Black Friday?

I would normally recommend holding off on buying new software until Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals officially kick off at the end of next month. However, these games are already exceeding my expectations for November's prices and considering there's still five weeks to wait for the main event it's well worth jumping in ahead of time here. Woot is a smaller site that specializes in these one-off sales, which means there's no guarantee that these discounts will return to the shelves when holiday sales officially start. If this sale had been at Amazon or Walmart, for example, I would have expected such savings to return periodically over the next few weeks. Woot operates on more of an ad-hoc basis, which means we can't tell if these prices will be this low again in the near future.

Not only that, but Black Friday is already getting started across the web. Amazon's Prime event essentially begun the entire sales season last year, with the frequency and size of discounts I saw on the shelves increasing rapidly after the October sale. What's more, I didn't see too many improvements on these kinds of prices over the course of the main Black Friday sale itself. Retailers are elongating their discounting period, and have been for a couple of years now, which means holiday sales start creeping in much earlier these days.
