GamesRadar vs. Shirley Phelps-Roper
Talkin' games with the Most Hated Woman in America
GR: Okay… getting back to games. How do you feel about sexuality in games?
SRP: Yeah, yeah. Why wouldn’t you do that? Why wouldn’t you have your filthy sex deeds piled up in your games? You have them everywhere else!
GR: So I’m guessing you haven’t played Mass Effect at all.
SRP: Of course not.
GR: You actually get to court somebody and build up to a physical relationship-
SRP: Forget that courting nonsense.
GR: People were making the ability to engage in sex a big to-do in the news.

SRP: Well, I don’t know why that would be upsetting to anybody in doomed America?
GR: Yeah, me neither.
SRP: Why should that be upsetting to anyone in doomed America? That’s their standard! That’s their manner of life. Who made that game?
GR: BioWare.
SRP: No, I’ll tell you who they were. They were the children of doomed America. Who were taught rebellion against the standards of God, and that God is a liar. So why would these teachers of that rebellion give a rat’s ass if you do what they taught you to do?
GR: It’s a great game. I just wanted you to play it…
SRP: I believe it’s perfectly on par with what this nation is taught.
GR: There’s also a game coming out called Bully, where you’re a kid in a school and you can earn Achievements by kissing boys.
SRP: Well I bet there is, because this nation has taught you that it’s all about your tiny little private parts.
GR: Tiny?
SRP: Do you know God’s stance on homosexuality?
GR: Not off the top of my head.
SRP: He says it’s an abomination. But you were taught that God is a liar. He says that’s an abomination, and you were taught, “That’s a lie. It’s okay to be gay.”
GR: But it’s not being gay really, it’s in a game. A different construct, the same way [is that]I’m not a plumber because I play Mario Bros.
SRP: Oh well, then by all means! If you have an urge, get all over that!
Above: Sometimes it just feels soright
GR: So you don’t see games as a healthy alternative for channeling urges?
SRP: No! It’s goofy. Lust! Here’s a verse for you: “Lust when it is conceived, bringeth forth sin. And when that is finished it bringeth forth death.”
GR: Well, technically everything bringeth forth death...
SRP: Well if that’s all good ideas and thoughts to you then get on with it! Do what you’re gonna do.
