Gary Oldman to star in Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes
In line to play the leader of a human colony
Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes has added some serious star-power to its human lineup, with Gary Oldman signing on to join the sequel.
The follow-up will pick up some 15 years after the events of the first film, with humanity having been decimated by the ape-borne flu we saw beginning to spread last time out.
It’s thought that Oldman will play Dreyfus, the leader of a colony of human survivors attempting to cling on to their place in the world alongside the new dominant species.
Oldman joins recent additions Jason Clarke and Kodi Smit-McPhee in the film’s new-look lineup. Andy Serkis is also set to return as lead ape, Caesar, although James Franco is not thought to be reappearing.
Directed by Matt Reeves, Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes will open in the UK on 23 May 2014.
