George Lucas talks Indy 4. Again.
“It’s basically Phantom Menace.” Oh dear Lord, now we’re scared.
This year. Next year. The script is finished. It’s still in development… For the love of all that is good and pure, could somebody please JUST. MAKE. INDY 4!
“I’ve been working on Indy 4 for ten years,” George Lucas recently told Time magazine, which doesn’t really suggest a level of Indy urgency at Skywalker Ranch. The bearded Star Wars scribbler also commented on the fact that father time is hot on the heels of his leading man, 63-year-old Harrison Ford.
“Uhh, yeah. But the thing is designed for that and I think it’s funny, it’s exciting.”
In fact, Lucas reckons the only problem with making the movie at all will be public reaction.
“All we can do is hurt ourselves; all it’s going to do is get criticised. I mean, it’s basically Phantom Menace - no matter what you do, it won’t be what the other ones were in terms of the impact or the way people remember them.”
But George, please just tell us it’s going to happen sometime, eh?
“If we can have a great time doing it and we can enjoy ourselves, no matter what the world thinks, let’s just do it.”
