Ghost Riders Bryan Taylor to direct Twisted Metal
He’s in charge of videogame adap
Crank and Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance co-director Bryan Taylor has been hired to write and direct a movie adaptation of the video game Twisted Metal .
The Sony game series has eight instalments to its name, and is defined as a “vehicle combat game”, in which various players fight to win Calypso's Twisted Metal Tournament.
The most recent release of the game is due out in March 2012, and features favourite characters like Sweet Tooth (The Clowns), Dollface (The Dolls), Mr. Grimm (The Skulls) and the Preacher (The Holy Men).
Taylor’s take on the game will reportedly focus on the underground death fights that appear in the game series, with weaponised cars heavily involved. The likes of Sweet Tooth and Doll Face are also expected to appear.
Having just helmed what looks to be a mental Ghost Rider movie, Taylor seems to be the perfect man for the job – especially given the levels of batshit violence inherent in the adap’s premise.
Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance opens 17 February 2012.
