Ghostbusters new footage showcases the team's wacky haul of gadgets

By now you'll have heard that Ghostbusters is a loose reboot of the original, with a new team fighting a new supernatural infestation of New York City. Like the earlier movies, Paul Feig looks to be aiming for ample laughs through the team's ghost-catching equipment.

Remember Egon's cautionary warning about the containment unit? Or not crossing the streams? As this latest video shows, the latest 'busters are having to go through that all over as they grow accustomed to a series of new gadgets:

Most of the swag has made its way into previous trailers and TV spots, especially the pistols that Kate McKinnon's character is fond of warming up in a very unique way. It's cool to finally hear a little more on what the rest of the gadgets actually do, but the most surprising thing is how much funnier this clip is than the last trailer.

As for the gear, the new issue proton packs started out as a giant nuclear laser - on wheels! No surprise that it got retweaked in backpack form. There's also shots of Kristen Wiig blasting away with a proton shotgun; Melissa McCarthy tussling with proton grenades, and my personal favorite - Leslie Jones wielding the ghost chipper. Ghostbusters meets Fargo, anyone?

Directed by Paul Feig and starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hemsworth, Ghostbusters opens in UK and US cinemas on July 15, 2016.
