God of War II dev: Zelda better on GameCube
Loves 360, not convinced about Wii
Developer Cory Barlog, director for the team currently working on God of War 2, reckons he's " happier playing Zelda on [his] GameCube," according to a post published on his personal blog about his experiences with Nintendo's Wii.
"The Wiimote was woefully inaccurate and sapped the fun of the game," Barlog comments, after playing Trauma Center: Second Opinion, adding that though he's hoping for some cool games released for Wii, he's worried that the motion-sensitive gaming fad will wear off. Which leaves him with nothing but "a much slimmer wireless GameCube."
"Maybe I'm just a luddite like that," Barlog says about his preference for GameCube Twilight Princess. In all fairness, we agree with him - Zelda is great, but the 'Cube controller feels more natural.
Though in a follow-up post (after Nintendo fans started "ripping [him] a new one" ) Barlog stresses he's not "writing off the Wii." Neither are we - but it needs a fresh wave of hardware-specific hits to show us what's possible.
