Gothic 3 - hands-on
More choices than you can roll a die at means you're in charge
Graphically, the game doesn't really compare the popular open ended RPG, Oblivion. But Gothic 3 still looks great and seems to promise more choices in terms of how you build your character and which side you choose to support - all of which are supposed to impact the outcome of the main storyline.
We're not ready to write off Gothic 3 as an Oblivion wannabe as it's got more choices than you can roll a die at. Still, it'll have to do a lot to appeal to gamers unfamiliar with the Gothic franchise if Aspyr wants Gothic 3 to rise above the shadow of Oblivion. The game is currently scheduled to release on November 20, and we're excited to see how it turns out.
