GR+ Live at SDCC 2015: Downton Abbey, The TARDIS and a zombie walk into a movie...
Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice is a classic tale of love and strife in 19th century British high society, with the timeless romance between willful Elizabeth Bennet and infuriatingly handsome Mister Darcy at its center. But there was always something missing from its many, many pages, and only in the early 21st century did we figure out what: zombie hordes and samurai swords. At least, that's what was missing if you talk to the cast of the upcoming Pride and Prejudice and Zombies film, which we did at San Diego Comic-Con 2015.
Hitting theaters in February 2016, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies boasts an emphatic cast of famous faces, including Matt Smith of Doctor Who fame and Lily James from Downton Abbey. We caught up with seven members of the zombie-killing brigade - Lily James (Elizabeth Bennet), Sam Riley (Mister Darcy), Matt Smith (Mister Collins), Bella Heathcote (Jane Bennet), Douglas Boothe (Mister Bingley), Jack Huston (Mister Wickham), and director Burr Steers - and learned about all the intrigue, romance, and martial arts training that goes into doing Jane Austen justice.
