Grand Theft Auto III Mobile available next week
10th Anniversary port incorporates touch-controls and sub-$5 price
Grand Theft Auto III's 10 Year Anniversary Edition will be available on select iOS and Android devices on December 15, Rockstar has announced. The list of devices in question has grown since the game's announcement, giving you a better chance of enjoying petty crime while out and about – and at $4.99, you probably won't even have to mug anyone for a copy. (Please don't do this anyway.)

GTA III: 10 Year Anniversary Edition will run on iPad 1 or 2, iPhone 4 or 4S, and iPod Touch 4th Generation. The game will also be compatible with HTC Rezound, LG Optimus 2x, Motorola Atrix 4G, Motorola Droid X2, Motorola Photon 4G, Samsung Galaxy R and T-Mobile G2x Android phones, and Acer Iconia, Asus Eee Pad Transformer, Dell Streak 7, LG Optimus Pad, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1, Sony Tablet S or Toshiba Thrive tablets running the OS.

Optimized with touch-screen controls and graphics that certainly look a lot crisper than the 2001 original's, the 10th Anniversary Edition's $4.99 price-tag is good value for a game that you could once have paid ten times as much for. Here's Rockstar's 10th Anniversary tribute to its own game – which is the kind of self-congratulation you can get away with if you're R*.
