GTA 5 has a new ultra-pretty mod that'll make you feel like you've upgraded your eyes

No that's not a shot from Forza, it's GTA 5, honest. We've had stacks of the best GTA 5 PC mods - some weirder than others - but GTA Redux from Josh Romito knocks the particle effects covered ball out of the park.

Redux adds all new textures, billboards, an overhauled weapon system, new weather, masses of new effects and pretty much dramatically reboots the whole of Los Santos. You can see the full new features list on the website and it's a ridiculous labour of love. We've previously only seen screens - check out the gallery below but this is the first gameplay reveal and it's eye meltingly-beautiful.

The release date will be revealed when Romito hits 5000 subs on YouTube which seems a small price to pay. In terms of what specs you'll need to run it, Romito says "I suggest that you're able to run the vanilla game with at least 10 fps to spare, in order to achieve optimal performance with the mod. There will be a typical frame-rate drop anywhere from 5-10 fps depending on your PC. " I'd invest in a new 1070 for this...
