The GTA Online fastest bikes for racing and riding
Get the best GTA Online motorcycles to succeed in races
If you're looking for the GTA Online fastest bikes then you're either keen to race on two wheels, or you prefer to have the wind in your hair as you travel around Los Santos and Blaine County by motorcycle. As you don't have the same level of protection surrounding you when riding a motorbike, you'll want to know that you can get to your destination safely and quickly, which means acceleration, handling, and weight are all aspects taken into consideration along with top speed to determine the greatest two-wheeler in GTA Online. Whether you're a big spender or working with a limited budget, I've put together this summary of the best and fastest GTA Online bikes to refer to when choosing your next ride.
Want somewhere to store your fast rides? Then you need to invest in the biggest garage in GTA Online.
As with my guide to the GTA Online fastest cars, I'll be referencing the extensive research by GTA vehicle expert Broughy via his YouTube channel and gtacars.net website, where he uses custom tracks to determine the top speed and lap time of all vehicles. I'll narrow that down to two wheels to find the GTA Online fastest bikes, where not only will I be highlighting the best five performers for top speed, but I'll also look at the top five lap times achieved. You can see the results and methodology in full for more information about the process and how these figures were collected.
GTA Online fastest bikes – Top Speed
- Western Reever - 163 mph
- HSW Shitzu Hakuchou Drag - 157.5mph
- Western Deathbike - 150 mph
- Manchez Scout - 139.75 mph
- Nagasaki BF400 - 137 mph
The top speeds on the list above were all achieved between two checkpoints on a straight route. A trick to get the best speed possible with the GTA Online fastest bikes is to keep pulling wheelies, as this will help you reach and maintain a top speed, with some bikes actually glitching with sustained wheelies to exceed what should be their maximum speed. The top spot has been well and truly dominated by the Western Reever, a breathtaking ride added with The Contract update that is (unofficially) based on the ARCH Nazaré from Cyberpunk 2077, and it's a steal at $1.9m from Legendary Motorsport.
That's followed by a customized version of the Shitzu Hakuchou Drag, as obtained from GTA Online Hao's Special Works, but as that is exclusive to PS5 and Xbox Series X players only not everyone will have access to it. The Western Deathbike once had far and away the highest top speed, helped by the nitro boost you can use to give yourself some extra juice, but it's still a solid pick. To get the Deathbike you need to invest in an Arena War arena workshop, then convert a Gargoyle bike for a cool $1,269,000 – which means you're looking at a $2m+ total investment to unlock this beast.
If you're looking to save money or are racing on the budget, then I need to give the Nagasaki BF400 a shout out. It's still in the top five list, but has been around since the Cunning Stunts update in 2016 and can be picked up for just $95,000 from Southern San Andreas Super Autos – what a bargain!
GTA Online fastest bikes – Lap Time
- HSW Shitzu Hakuchou Drag - 0:52.736
- Western Powersurge - 0:55.371
- Nagasaki Shotaro - 00:57.490
- Shitzu Hakuchou Drag - 00:57.590
- Nagasaki Shinobi - 00:58.592
This is where things get interesting, with the above lap times earned on multiple runs of the Cutting Coroners GP circuit. Lap times take acceleration and handling into account rather than just top speed, though bear in mind that these results were obtained by a highly skilled rider and your mileage may vary depending on your own abilities. This test shows the Hao's Special Works version of the Shitzu Hakuchou Drag has now taken pole position, though again this is only available on PS5 or Xbox Series and you need some series riding skills to master the difficult handling at high speeds.
The Western Powersurge was added right at the end of 2022, and this all-electric motorcycle jumped straight into second place to become the top choice for those on PC or last-gen consoles. The Tron-esque Nagasaki Shotaro is still up there in third, and if you want to purchase this bike you'll need to play at least one round of the Deadline Adversary Mode, after which it will become available from Legendary Motorsports but will set you back a hefty $2,225,000. This is closely followed by the Nagasaki Shotaro and then the standard version of the Shitzu Hakuchou Drag, which is a less pricy $976,000 from Legendary Motorsports and was only slightly slower around the test circuit.
I have to give an honorable mention to the Pegassi Bati 801 and Bati 801RR, which perform identically and although they clock in mere milliseconds behind the fifth-placed Nagasaki Shinobi they have a minuscule $15,000 price tag, making them a very attractive prospect for racers on a budget.
GTA Online fastest bikes – which is best?
Ultimately, the question of which GTA Online fastest bike is best comes down to personal preference and riding ability. If you want to say you objectively have 'the fastest bike' then the Western Reever is it, but if you want a motorcycle with a similarly ridiculous top speed and pretty solid handling, then the Shitzu Hakuchou Drag is a sound choice for you whether you have access to the Hao's Special Works customization or the standard edition.
If you're looking for a nippy ride with smooth manoeuvrability, and don't mind sitting atop a cycle that looks like it's been lifted directly from the movie Tron, then the Nagasaki Shotaro is definitely ticking the right boxes. Finally, if you're on a tight budget then the Pegassi Bati 801 / Bati 801RR ranks highly for both top speed (just outside the top five) and lap time while only costing a fraction of the price the other motorcycles command, so is a great pick to have in your garage.
Whatever you go for, make sure you put in the time and practice to really understand the bike's handling so you can get the most out of it, and remember to always wear your helmet – safety is sexy.
