Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 gets an official start date
James Gunn has revealed an official start date for Guardians Of The Galaxy 2, with the director announcing that the sequel will begin filming in February 2016. The shoot will take place at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, which has become Marvel’s unofficial base of late.
The first film had been shot in London, but the sequel will follow in the footsteps of Ant-Man and Captain America: Civil War by relocating to Atlanta. Marvel’s next project to begin filming will be Doctor Strange, although a location has yet to be confirmed for that one.
During his update, Gunn also revealed that he is about 70 pages into the new script, and confirmed that Karen Gillan’s character Nebula will be making a return. He also mentioned that the actress won’t need to shave her head this time out, which presumably made the role an easier sell!
Directed by Gunn and co-starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista et al, Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 is set to open in the UK on 28 April 2017 and in the US on 5 May 2017.
