Guardians Of The Galaxy movie gets a new writer
Black List scribe Chris McCoy is wielding the pen
Black List screenwriter Chris McCoy has been tapped by Marvel Studios to work on the latest draft of the Guardians Of The Galaxy screenplay.
McCoy, whose own scripts have appeared on Hollywood’s infamous Black List three times, will be rewriting a draft of the Guardians screenplay penned by Nicole Perlman.
While Perlman was obviously hired for her ability to write space drama (she previously scribed an unproduced script about Neil Armstrong), McCoy is apparently best known for his comedic wit.
Considering Guardians will involve a talking racoon (who comes wielding a gun), it’s no surprise that Marvel needs to find the perfect tone for the big screen space opera.
Meanwhile, THR confirmed that the Guardians line-up will include Drax the Destroyer, Groot, Star-Lord, Gamora and, of course, Rocket Raccoon.
Guardians Of The Galaxy opens in cinemas 1 August 2014.
