Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2's villain may have just been revealed *SPOILERS*
The currently filming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is still over a year away from its cinematic debut, and there's (understandably) still plenty we don't know about it. Much of the speculation thus far has focused on the identity of Star-Lord's father, but some new info may reveal which villain Star Lord and co will be going up against.
According to JoBlo, the Guardians will have to contend with Ayesha in Vol. 2. The report also goes on to say that Elizabeth Debicki - who impressed in Guy Ritchie's The Man from U.N.C.L.E. last year - may play the role.
For those not in the know, Ayesha - also known as Her, Paragon, or Kismet - is a godlike being created by a group of scientists called The Enclave who want to rule the world. Assuming this is true, it will be interesting to see how much of that origin makes it into Vol. 2, but in any case Ayesha sounds like a suitably cosmic (and notably female) foe for our heroes.
Directed by James Gunn and starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, Kurt Russell, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will hit UK cinemas on April 28, 2017 and open in US theatres on May 5, 2017.
