Guitar Hero fans are 'untalented pretenders', says singer
John Mayer attacks GH because its "nothing like playing a real guitar." Um, duh?
John Mayerhas criticized Activision's Guitar Hero, because "it makes it easy for untalented people to pretend they are good at playing the instrument," Rolling Stone magazine reports (via siteEntertainment Wise).
The singer-song writer claims that no game could ever match the enjoyment of playing a real guitar. Evidently the concept of "game" is lost on him.
"Guitar Hero was devised to bring the guitar-playing experience to the masses without them having to put anything into it," he said.
"And having done both, there's nothing like really playing guitar. I mean, what would you rather drive, a Ferrari or one of those amusement-park cars on a track?"
Seeing as how we can'tafford Ferraris, Mr. Mayer, we'll stick to our Power Wheels and our plastic guitars... Oh, and we getplastic drums now, too.
