Guitar Hero III more than a cockfight
Activision hosts Guitar Hero charity challenge to benefit sick kids
Finally Activision does something selfless. From May 2 to May 5, Guitar Hero III will host a charity challenge competition (on easy, medium and hard), benefiting the Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation. Activision will donate $1 to the charity for every participant and $100 for every 1000 points of a challenger’s individual score. The Starlight Starbright Foundation helps sick kids and their families cope with the suffering of illness through family activities and entertainment (these are the guys who put out thecelebrity-studdedTuttles Madcap Misadventuresgame last year).
Gamers can sign up on Guitar Hero’sofficial sitefrom today until May 2 at 7:59. The competition song is Monster’s “Matchbook Romance,” and the winner of the challenge scores an all-expense paid trip for two to Southern California and a tour of Neversoft Entertainment.
A separate competition is also being held for Starbright kids and their siblings- the winner of which will join the winner of the general competition on their tour of the developer’s studio.
Check outGuitar Hero’s sitefor more competition details and while you’re at it, visit theStarlight Starbright’s websitefor more info on the foundation and their important work.
