Guy Ritchie directing King Arthur for Warner Bros
Film will arrive in July 2016
Guy Ritchie has settled upon his next directorial project, with Warner announcing that he will head up its forthcoming sword-wielding epic, King Arthur .
Warner has had one eye on a King Arthur film for some time now, while Ritchie is thought to have explored the possibility himself in the past, so it seems as though the stars have aligned somewhat for both parties.
Warner has also revealed that the film will open in the US on 22 July 2016, making it the first film to put down a marker on that particular release date.
We’ve no idea just what kind of take on the familiar legend the studio is pursuing, although a script has already been penned by Joby Harold.
Ritchie is currently completing post-production on The Man From U.N.C.L.E. , again for Warner, with production on the new film set to begin once that has all been wrapped up.
