Halle Berry has jumped aboard based-on-fact jewel thief drama Who Is Doris Payne?
Justin Berfield and Jason Felts have been developing the project for a while, so casting Berry as the woman whose career spanned five decades is quite a catch for them.
Eunetta Boone will write the script, which will feature Payne’s top talent –posing as a rich customer, whose sexy charms and confounding wiles make the sales bods forget how many items they’ve shown her.
Though she got arrested several times, she never used force in her stealthy snatching operations.
Currently, Payne is in the slammer in Las Vegas for stealing a ring from department store Neiman Marcus – so at least Halle will know where to find her to ask the research questions…
