In a VIP match, each team has a randomly assigned VIP. Your objectives are twofold: protect your VIP and kill the enemy VIP. The Beta mainly serves up VIP matches on Snowbound. Whoever is the VIP will have an overshield by default, so you'll have to make a concerted effort to bring him down. VIPs are identifiable by the star indicators above their heads.
VIPs generally try to hole up on the edges of the map, or in one of the bases. The back corners of the map are the most defensible, especially if you have decent mid to long range support. If you prefer a close-up fight, go for one of the bases and work the tunnels.
