Halo 3 - the complete story

Level four:

The story: Upon reaching the African city of Voi, an assault takes place by the enemy, and you'll be playing the role of an Askar (a small standing military force consisting of slaves and freed men). It looks as though the Arbiter and Elites will be the centerpiece of the level with them possibly being the assaulting foes. Eventually though we'll see them join forces with the Chief and finally begin fighting side by side.

The evidence: "Your world will burn until its surface is but glass," spoke Truth in the E3 trailer, and he wasn't lying. Voi isn't in the best of shape now that the Covenant have begun "glassing" the planet. The E3 trailer shows us plenty of shots of the derelict city, flaming and war-torn under the heat of the Covenant ships' rays - much like the streets of Mombasa after Truth's ship jumped in the previous game.

The gameplay: We reckon Voi (and the level directly following, tentatively named FloodVoi) could well end up being Halo 3 favourites. With similarities to the famous 2003 Halo 2 E3 demo in terms of environment and combat, and a lot of story progression and twists, this'll be a level you won't forget in a hurry.
