The Hangover: Part II smashed all sorts of records this weekend, snatching a hefty $200m at the worldwide box office.
Which means one word is currently echoing around the corridors at Warner Bros – “threequel!”
A third instalment in the Hangover series was talked about just before Hangover II hit, when director Todd Phillips confirmed he had an idea for a trilogy capper.
Now, Hangover II scribe Craig Mazin is being courted by WB to pen a third (and possibly final) instalment in the boozy franchise.
No word on the plot yet, though with Phillips clearly up for a third round of carnage, the only thing potentially standing in the way of a third Hangover could be the film’s stars.
Zach Galifianakis was constantly, vocally negative about Hangover II during filming, which means he could be nervous about a third, typecasting trip with the boys.
Considering the amount of money Hangover II ’s made, though, Galifianakis, Brad Cooper and Ed Helms can basically ask for any sum they want...
