Amazon is serving up some fantastic Nintendo Switch OLED bundles this weekend

The Nintendo Switch OLED may have been on the shelves for over two years, but it’s only just starting to see its own discounts. Rather than saving £10 or £20 on the console by itself, though, Amazon is offering up some fantastic bundles this week, offering over £50 off a console and game together.

These aren’t cheap games, either. We normally see smaller releases included in Nintendo Switch OLED deals; think more Sparks of Hope, Just Dance, and Minecraft - games that generally only have a £20 price tag by themselves. This week, though, we’ve got everything from Super Mario Bros. Wonder to Princess Peach Showtime, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to Super Mario Odyssey. With sale prices dropping the vast majority of these bundle prices down below the standard £309.99 cost of the console itself, things are looking particularly impressive on these shelves.

The cheapest of today’s Nintendo Switch deals is a Super Mario Bros. Wonder bundle (now £304.90 at Amazon). With the full price of the 2023 release included, that’s £359.98 worth of value for £5 less than the OLED’s RRP. At the other end of the (small) scale, we have The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. This is a pricier game, so the £314.99 bundle price is a little over the standard cost of the console. That’s still excellent value, though - the £59.99 RRP of the game itself generally only ticks down to around £45, so grabbing it for a fiver is a solid result.

You’ll find all of today’s biggest Nintendo Switch bundles at Amazon just below.

The Nintendo Switch OLED is the latest and greatest in Ninty’s hybrid gaming handheld lineup. While it keeps the same internal power as the standard model, it’s much better geared towards those who mostly play in handheld mode. That’s because of the improved (and slightly bigger) OLED panel up top and the longer battery life under the hood. It’s still the same core experience when docked, though, so if you don’t see yourself playing on the go too often, the standard edition is better value for money.

Of course, there’s also the Nintendo Switch 2 problem. With the brand’s next console currently slated to arrive in 2025, the OLED’s position on the market is a little compromised. Rumors currently have it that the next handheld will be announced in March, though, which still gives you a full year of play before the next device.

There’s risk in both diving in and waiting here. If you know you want the Nintendo Switch 2 from day one, then we’d recommend holding off on the OLED (especially if you’re upgrading from another Switch console). The risk here, though, lies in the fact that we really don’t know anything about the successor - you don’t know what you’re waiting for, and you could be enjoying a year of gaming in the meantime.

Of course, the risk of jumping straight in with today’s Nintendo Switch deals is that the next device will come along, offer a better experience, and you’ll want to trade in sooner than you had expected.

It all comes down to this, though. If you want to be playing Switch games for the next 12 months, you’ll want to take advantage of today’s offers. There’s still too much up in the air to seriously recommend holding off for the Switch 2 in general - and many will be waiting for the next release to drop its price later on anyway.

Kit out your new device will all the best Nintendo Switch accessories and the best Nintendo Switch controllers for a full setup - and be sure to keep an eye on upcoming Prime Day Nintendo Switch deals for more offers on games and gadgets.
