Harry Potter Quidditch movie in the works?

It seems Fantastical Beasts And Where To Find Them isn’t the only big-screen adaptation for Potter fans to get excited about – Warner Bros could also be planning a movie version of JK Rowling’s Quidditch Through The Ages.

According to Bleeding Cool , the studio has been snapping up Potter trademarks that include Rowling’s book on the magical sport, hinting that an adaptation could be on the cards.

The reveal comes just weeks after it was announced that Rowling will script an adap of her book Fantastical Beasts And Where To Find Them , which is set in the Potter-verse but isn’t likely to star the likes of Daniel Radcliffe or Emma Watson.

The WB called Fantastical Beasts "the first in a new film series which is part of their expanded creative partnership with [ the author ]", which means the future’s bright for Potter fans.

Rowling also recently sold an annotated copy of The Philosophers Stone in which the billionaire revealed how she came up with Quidditch.

"It was invented in a small hotel in Manchester after a row with my then boyfriend," she wrote. "I had been pondering the things that hold a society together, cause it to congregate and signify its particular character and knew I needed a sport.

"It infuriates men... which is quite satisfying given my state of mind when I invented it."

While there is no confirmation from the studio that a Quidditch movie is on the way, the buzz around Beasts certainly suggests Potter spin-offs could prove as popular as the original films.
