The next-gen versions of PES are essentially very good football games. But PES as we know it will die with PS2. The graphics of the new game are comparitively sterile. Indeed, the whole game looks like a hard-edged computer simulation of football, as opposed to the stylised videogame with its ownidentity that we know and love. To put it another way, i t's the equivalent of music on CD as opposed to vinyl. It's still your favourite song and its clarity is astonishing, but it's just too soulless compared to the warmth of the original format.
