Hawkeye will appear in Captain America: Civil War
Hawkeye is set to join in the fun on Captain America: Civil War, with THR reporting that Jeremy Renner is confirmed to appear in the forthcoming Marvel threequel.
Renner recently revealed that his character will play more of a key role in Avengers: Age Of Ultron, having spent much of the first film relegated to the sidelines.
Robert Downey Junior and Scarlett Johansson are also set to appear alongside Chris Evans in the new film, with the Avengers set to be divided over the issue of a government-introduced superhero registration act.
Just where Hawkeye’s allegiances will lie remains to be seen, although it would make for a nice B-story to see him and his old ally Black Widow on opposite sides of the divide.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Captain America: Civil War will open in the UK on 29 April 2016, and the US on 6 May 2016.
