Heath Ledger consults Doctor Parnassus
And Christopher Plummer also joins Terry Gilliam’s latest…
He’s been on a downward career spiral recently, thanks to The Brothers Grimm and the poorly received Tideland, but here’s hoping that Terry Gilliam can bring the magic back for his next film.
That would be fantasy adventure The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus, and it’s just grabbed a decent cast. Christopher Plummer will play the titular doctor, who guides others’ imaginations, but has a problem – he made a deal with the devil (Tom Waits) and now Satan is looking to collect. Heath Ledger has also jumped aboard, though his role is unknown.
"This fun and humorous story about the consequences of our personal choices in life will resonate worldwide," Gilliam blabbed to The Hollywood Reporter . Writing partner Charles McKeown has been working with him on the script, and with the likes of Verne Troyer, Lily Cole and Andrew Garfield also set to star, Dr Parnassus should kick off shooting this December in London before moving to Vancouver.
We’ll make our own deal with the devil if it means Gilliam gets his old form back…
