Horton Hears A Who gets more voices
A load of comedy voices sign on for the Seuss 'toon
The up and down fortunes of Dr Seuss adaptations (Grinch huge, Cat In The Hat not so much) hasn’t stopped the studios from digging into the kiddie author’s canon for new movies.
The latest chugging through 20th Century Fox Animation is Horton Hears A Who, the tale of an elephant who discovers a tiny world he must try to save. Jim Carrey is already on board to voice Horton, while Steve Carell is lending his tonsils to the mayor of Who-Ville.
Now spending time in the recording booth are Knocked Up’s Seth Rogen, Arrested Development’s Will Arnett, Wedding Crashers’ Isla Fisher, Accepted’s Jonah Hill and Saturday Night Live’s Amy Poehler. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg: comedy legend Carol Burnett, My Name Is Earl’s Jaime Pressley and Employee Of The Month’s Dane Cook have all also signed on.
You’ll have to wait until next year to hear them all, but let’s hope this new CG ‘toon wipes our memories clean of that Cat...
