Howard and Grace ready to Crusade
‘50s courtroom drama from West Wing producer begins to pad out cast
After seven years wrapped up in one of TV-lands most inspirational offerings, the people behind The West Wing are now out searching for jobs.
One fella who hasn’t got to scour the job ads just yet is producer Alex Graves who will turn helmer for New Line’s, The Crusaders.
Originally adapted by ex-West Wing scribblers Paul Redford and Lawrence O’Donnell, the story is based on the memoirs of Jack Greenberg, who, as a newbie lawyer, took the case to end school segregation to the Supreme Court in 1954, with the help of NAACP legal chief, Thurgood Marshall.
Graves is filling up his casting roster fast, having acquired the services of Hustle & Flow star Terrence Howard and Spider-Man 3 villain Topher Grace.
The script is currently being overhauled by Intolerable Cruelty scriber John Romano, with production expected to kick off later this year.
