Huge collection of Rare games, Rare Replay coming to Xbox One

Look, I know how most of you feel about The Master Chief Collection, but you must agree that, in principle, that is a magnificent idea. Good - because Rare are bringing a collection of 30 of their games to Xbox One, and it sounds kind of incredible.

In honour of the veteran studio's 30th anniversary, Rare Replay comprises games not licensed by another company. That includes solid gold classics like Banjo-Kazooie, Battletoads or Perfect Dark, and hidden gems like Blast Corps or Viva Pinata. Plus, it's worth a combined 10,000 Gamerscore.

It does mean we won't be seeing GoldenEye or Donkey Kong Country - both still owned by Nintendo - but this remains a frankly unparalleled tribute to one of the most celebrated studios out there. More as we learn more.
