Idris Elba joins the cast of Ridley Scott's Prometheus
Along with Kate Dickie and Sean Harris
Idris Elba, Kate Dickie and Sean Harris have joined the cast of Ridley Scott's Prometheus , the sorta-prequel to Alien .
The movie is shrouded in immense secrecy, but it's fast creeping its way to the top of our 'Most Anticipated List'.
Elba is still probably best known for his portrayal of Stringer Bell in The Wire , pulling off an astonishing blend of charm and menace.
He also earned good notices for Luther (on the telly), and he has provided solid support in The Losers , RocknRolla and 28 Days Later , and he'll be seen in Thor this summer.
You may recognise Kate Dickie from her performance in Andrea Arnold's Red Road , where she was compelling as the CCTV operator with a secret past, and Sean Harris has recently been seen in Brighton Rock , Harry Brown and Red Riding .
These new recruits are joining the already-cast Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender and Charlize Theron.
It's extremely reassuring and exciting to see Scott filling out his cast with genuine acting talent over big-name recognition, as he returns to the territority of one of his greatest movies.
And this is one movie that we're properly excited to see in 3D...
