The McLaren F1 is undoubtedly one of the fastest, most sporting cars ever made, an undeniable classic in every sense of the word. The car sports such astounding engineering and attention to detail that it puts other exotic super cars to shame. Despite the fact the car is over 10 years old, it is still one of the fastest production road vehicles ever made, and remains the fastest naturally aspirated vehicle in the world. Engineered by one of the most legendary F1 teams in history and sporting adrastically better power-to-weight ratio, the McLaren is the clear performance winner.
Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG
Displacement: 6.2 L / 378 cu in
Horsepower: 563 HP @ 6800 RPM
Torque: 480 lb-ft torque @ 4750 RPM
Weight: 3562 lbs / 1,620 kg
Top Speed: 197 MPH / 317 KPH
Even so , the SLS AMG is Gran Turismo 5’s poster car, and for good reason, its unique styling gives it a very strong sense of character, and its gullwing doors hearken back to Mercedes’ legendary 300 SL Gullwing. The other fact to consider before you plunk downyour cashis that most people are still new to the idea of preordering games at Amazon compared to GameStop. When’s the last time you went to GameStop and an employee didn’t ask if you wanted to preorder something? That means that the SLS AMG will like be the rarer of the two DLC cars, especially considering the GameStop preorder includes an additional NASCAR race vehicle.
Verdict
If you’re looking for pure performance, go with Gamestop’s McLaren F1 / #20 NASCAR pre-order, but if you’re interested in selling your pre-order code on eBay for some cash, then go for the Amazon SLS AMG. Either way, it’s almost 100% guaranteed these two cars will be available for purchase in-game, albeit without the “Stealth” graphics and performance upgrades, so don’t bank on making a mortgage payment with your eBay-ed DLC cash.
