Inafune: Dead Rising sequel considered
But it's definitely not in development, the producer of the original zombie-fest on 360 confirms
Dead Rising producer Keiji Inafune has set the record straight on the current status of a sequel to the zombie-fest on Xbox 360, confirming that a follow-up isn't currently in production.
However, it is a title under consideration at Capcom Japan.
"...we're not making it [Dead Rising 2] right now," Inafunetold Game Informer, but explained it's something he'd love to make.
Above: Dead Rising's mall nicely paid homage to George Romero's Dawn of the Dead, but where would a sequel be set? What hasn't been done yet? An amusement park? A college campus?
"I would love to be able to take some time off from my business-side responsibilities just to be able to produce it myself - that's how much I love the game and would love to do it."
He added that it's only a possibility that he'd be working on a Dead Rising 2.

"If it was announced, I might be the one back in Japan making it. That's the title that they're considering back in Capcom Japan that I would want to produce the most, out of anything they're thinking about. That's how much I really love it. But I'm very busy," Inafune said.
