Incredible new poster for Thor: The Dark World
Asgard’s finest are ready to rumble
Thor: The Dark World has released an epic new poster online.
The hotly anticipated sequel - which lands in late 2013 - is the next step in Marvel’s Phase 2 megaplan, with Chris Hemsworth’s Thor returning to his old life after his adventures in The Avengers .
As well as returning to London to reconnect with his Earthbound love, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), he’s also got an army of dark elves to deal with, led by Christopher Eccleston’s Malekith.
As the subtitle hints at, the sequel will spend more time exploring the nine realms of Asgard, with Thor whisking her off to meet his folks in his homeworld. Naturally, Thor’s adopted brother Loki looks set to cause all manner of mischief.
Director Alan Taylor - who takes the reigns from Kenneth Branagh - has experience on Game Of Thrones , and should bring an earthier aesthetic to one of Marvel’s more fantastical settings.
