Indigo Prophecy developer working on PS3 exclusive
Is it Heavy Rain? SCE makes enigmatic announcement on team-up with Quantic Dream
Sony Computer Entertainment and Indigo Prophecy developer Quantic Dream are collaborating on a PS3-exclusive game, the formerhas stated in a press announcement.
"Combined with the power of Cell Broadband Engine and game development technology of PS3, the project is expected to set a new benchmark in delivering emotionally compelling experiences to gamers," we're told.
No game names are mentioned, but we're wondering if it's referring to Quantic Dream's adventure thriller Heavy Rain, a rolling prototype tech demo-thing which was used at E3 2006 to display the power of PS3's hardware and the game engine (you can see the rolling demo here).
Sony was unavailable to offer clarification at the time of writing.
Whether it turns out to be Heavy Rain or not, David Cage, founder, president and CEO of Quantic Dream, had this to say: "We always believed that 'next generation' meant more meaningful content based on players' emotional involvement. To us, PS3 is the only platform that can truly deliver on this promise."
