There aren't enough videogames starring Kiwi birds. In fact, I can only think of Ivy the Kiwi? and this one, Fly Kiwi, Fly! Both of them feature needless punctuation that makes sentences look really weird, but they're both pretty damn good. And feature Kiwi birds. Which makes them awesome.
The idea of Fly Kiwi, Fly! is to make a kiwi fly, obviously. Of course, being a flightless bird, we're going to have to cheat a bit. Using trampolines, hang gliders and rocket packs, the aim of Fly Kiwi, Fly! is to earn coins by performing mid-air tricks and staying in the air as much as possible. Those coins can then be spent on new items and upgrades that help the Kiwi get even further.
Featuring solid accelerometer controls and decent physics, Fly Kiwi, Fly! is a fun little title that ought to keep you playing for a while. Like all good iPhone games, it's simple but has just enough depth to keep everybody satisfied. The cartoony graphics are also quite pleasant too.
The secret to Fly Kiwi, Fly!'s fun is in trying to fly further than ever before and reaching new countries, thus unlocking fresh challenges. Finally crossing the border to reach a new country is incredibly satisfying and really spurs the player on. For only a buck, it's well worth checking out. Plus again, the whole awesome kiwi bird thing deserves a nod of respect!
