A lot of people ragged on Predators when it was released in theaters, but you know what? I liked it! It didn't demand anything, it had loads of violence, and anybody who tries to argue that the original movies were anything more than silly action distractions is high. It was a good movie and, shockingly, a good game came out for it.
You wouldn't expect an iPhone movie spin-off game to be anything short of dreadful, but Predators is really quite decent and well worth the surprisingly meager asking price. Taking on the role of one of the titular alien hunters, players must complete a variety of tasks in order to become an elite killing machine.
With a bunch of simple attacks combos and a whole host of movie-flavored Predator weapons including wristblades, plasma cannon, and long killing stick of killing, Predators does a decent job of putting one into the boots of a dreadlocked psychopath. It actually does a far better job than recent console outings have ever done.
Sometimes the controls seem unresponsive, and the same forest arena feels pretty repetitive after the while, but the various upgrades and the rather brutal gore should keep players coming back. It's actually one of the better Predator games I've ever played, and I've played a lot, including that old Commadore 64 one!
