Confirmed: Guardians of the Galaxy's Dave Bautista has joined the cast of Blade Runner 2

UPDATE (5/4/2016): This has now been confirmed. Dave Bautista has officially joined the cast of Blade Runner 2.

Original story:

There aren't many who have switched careers quite as successfully as Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, but Dave Bautista - who also started out as a professional wrestler - is building up quite the filmography for himself. He surprised many with his funny turn as Drax the Destroyer in Guardians of the Galaxy (a role he's set to reprise in 2017's sequel), and he also appeared as a fearsome henchmen in last year's Spectre.

If his latest tweet is to be believed, Bautista may have just added the Blade Runner franchise to his resume. Check it out below...

Bautista is holding an origami unicorn in the pic, which is a clear reference to the end of the original Blade Runner. In addition to Ryan Gosling and the returning Harrison Ford, Blade Runner 2 recently added Robin Wright to its cast. If this is any indication it looks like we can expect another official announcement fairly soon.

I like to think that this was Bautista's reaction when he found out the Blade Runner news...

Directed by Denis Villeneuve and starring Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright, and Harrison Ford, filming on Blade Runner 2 is set to commence next summer, with a release date yet to be confirmed.
