Jake Gyllenhaal comes out swinging in new Southpaw spot
With the eyes of the sporting world locked on Las Vegas ahead of this weekend’s Mayweather / Pacquiao bout, The Weinstein Company has chosen an opportune moment to drop a new TV spot for boxing drama Southpaw. And it’s every bit as intense as anything we could hope to see on Saturday night…
The new film follow’s Jake Gyllenhaal’s grizzled brawler, whose world is turned upside down by the untimely death of his wife. With his family life in tatters and his career on the skids, Gyllenhaal returns to the ring for one last crack at redemption.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua and co-starring Rachel McAdams, 50 Cent and Forest Whitaker, Southpaw will open in the UK and US on 24 July 2015.
