James Cameron's OTHER Upcoming SF movie

James Cameron hasn't just spent the years since Titanic developing Avatar, so while everyone else is talking about his attempts to revolutionise 3D films, get ahead of the game and gem up on another of his projects - Battle Angel.

It's a live action version of the anime and manga Battle Angel Alita, about a deadly, amnesiac cyborg that looks like a 14 year-old girl, also known as The Angel Of Death. It's no news that Cameron has been working on the project for some years, but a site called MarketSaw claims to have seen test footage and is getting very excited about it indeed – though the site seem mainly excited about seeing a 14 year-old girl being ultraviolent, which seems a bit iffy.

"Now picture the Angel of Death looking like a child - a 14 year old," gushes the article. "Now imagine this - this little girl goes through these guys like butter. Did you see the KICK-ASS trailer? Well imagine that girl via the Matrix via Ghost in the shell, via AI. Remember the True Lies bathroom brawl? Well take out Arnold, and “copy and paste” Bruce Lee on acid via the Terminator. as seen through the eyes of a sweet innocent 14 year old cyborg girl. And all of this done via the mind of James Cameron, Holy shit what is not to love? The lights flicker and shit hits the fan. Awesome stuff."

The site also claims that Alita will have various forms throughout the movie (different heads and bodies), and that the film will feature gladitorial-style future sports.

The film hasn’t been officially green lit, and the only thing that could possibly keep that from happening is if Avatar stiffs.
