Jason Bateman and Allison Janney meet Juno
A Bluth and a Winger for Jason Reitman’s pregnancy comedy
He’s already shooting film, but Thank You For Smoking director Jason Reitman has added Arrested Development’s Jason Bateman and The West Wing’s Allison Janney to the cast of his new comedy, Juno.
The film already boasts X-Men 3’s Ellen Page as the titular high school girl who suddenly finds herself pregnant, thanks to a clumsy insemination by best friend Michael Cera. Jennifer Garner’s also on board as a woman interested in adopting the unborn child, while Bateman will play Garner’s emotionally unstable husband.
Janney, meanwhile, has signed on as Juno’s stepmother, who must help her through this strange new world of pregnancy. With a script by Diablo Cody, the movie is filming right now in Canada. Unless you’re reading this 500 years in the future, via a chip implanted in your head. In which case, how are our alien overlords treating the world?
