Jason Segel joins Adventurer's Handbook
He's on board with Jonah Hill and Jason Schwartzman
Jason Segel, last seen in I Love You, Man, has joined the cast of The Adventurer's Handbook.
The film already boasts Funny People's Jonah Hill and Jason Schwartzman, and will spin the tale of four childhood friends who decide to spice up their boring lives by setting off on a trip around the world.
Handbook's script - which was adapted from Mick Conefrey's similarly-titled book - was written by Hill, Max Winkler and Matt Spicer, and Akiva Schaffer is directing.
Segel will play a musician who never quite got his career in gear and is stuck being an alcoholic backup piano player (sounds a little bit like his character in Forgetting Sarah Marshall to us).
Hill, meanwhile, is an distant and socially awkward engineer, while Schwartzman will be a rich, annoying and cowardly grammy winner.
Universal and Working Title are planning to have the film shooting early next year.
