Jason Statham signs for Crank 2: High Voltage
More heart trouble for Chev Chelios…
Jason Statham clearly had a blast making Crank with Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, as he’s just agreed to reprise his role as Chev Chelios, the hitman with the worst cardiac luck in history.
Lionsgate has geared up the sequel, which goes under the self-explanatory title Crank 2: High Voltage. But if you really need an explanation, it’ll see Chelios facing down a Chinese mobster who steals his heart (not in the rom com sense, but literally) and replaces it with a battery-operated device that requires regular jolts of electricity to keep it moving. We really hope they won’t get a sex scene out of that idea…
The directors will start work on the sequel just as soon as they finish shooting high-concept futuristic thriller Game, which kicks off filming next week.
