Jeremy Renner has been discussing his future as Hawkeye, and has hinted that the character may be cropping up in Captain America 3 .
It had previously been rumoured that Hawkeye would follow in the footsteps of Black Widow and take on a supporting role in Cap’s story, and judging by Renner’s latest comments, that looks set to be the case.
“I’m happy to be in the ensemble,” says Renner. “I’m not scratching or clawing to do a solo movie by any means. I think he’s a utility guy that can bounce around into other people’s universes a little bit, especially like Cap 3 .”
That last sentence was followed by two massive stage winks, which should make it pretty explicit that Renner will be appearing in the third film after all…
In the meantime, we’ll be able to see him line up alongside all the other Avengers in Age Of Ultron , which opens in the UK on 24 April 2015.
