Jesse Eisenberg takes on thriller Now You See Me
Jake Gyllenhaal may join him
Jesse Eisenberg has landed the lead role in Louis Leterrier’s magical heist thriller Now You See Me.
The Social Network star will play the leader of a group of magicians who literally reward their audiences’ loyalty by robbing banks during shows and sharing the money with their fans.
Meanwhile, a crack FBI squad is dedicated to stopping their anarchic performances.
So it’s basically The Illusionist meets Ocean’s Eleven . Sounds good to us, especially as it’s something of a change for Eisenberg, who has favoured less action-inclined roles since Zombieland .
Also apparently interested in the film is Jake Gyllenhaal. He’s been offered an as-yet-undisclosed role, but has yet to firm up a deal.
Next up for Eisenberg is Woody Allen’s Predisposed , while he may re-team with Noah Baumbach for domestic drama While We’re Young .
