JJ Abrams producing another untitled supernatural thriller

Oh, Mr Abrams, you just can’t get enough of producing films that you keep under wraps and make us guess what they’re about, can you? Someone needs to get JJ into a program – he’s clearly got a problem.

Because yes, he’s at it again. Hot on the heels of the still untitled disaster movie scheduled to strike screens next year, JJ Abrams has grabbed hold of a pitch for a supernatural adventure from Maria Full Of Grace director Josh Marston and agreed to produce while Marston writes and directs.

The Russian-born Yelchin would be playing the Ruskie navigator who ends up on the USS Enterprise, though the film is rumoured to follow the Trek heroes during their time at Starfleet Academy.

Now what Yelchin really needs to master is Walter Koenig’s oft-imitated accent from the original series and movies. After us: “Noo-clear… Wessels…”
